Walmart lives by their slogan “Save money. Live Better” very seriously, especially when it comes to its grocery aisles. The popular discount retailer announced on April 30 that it has launched a new line of “chef-inspired” foods called bettergoods, now Walmart’s largest private label grocery store in 20 years.

Walmart’s Bettergoods: Elevating Dining Experiences with Affordable Quality

It’s a commitment to our customers that they can enjoy the unique culinary flavours at an incredible value that Walmart provides,” said Scott Morris, Walmart’s senior vice president of private brands, grocery and consumer goods, in a recent press release.

We can say that affordable is certainly accurate when we look at the prices in this range. Bettergoods’ 300 items range between $2 and $15, with most priced under $5. These items are found in many Walmart aisles, including frozen, dairy, snacks, beverages, pasta, soups, chocolate and coffee.

Walmart set out to achieve three different goals by launching this line. The first is to elevate shoppers’ dining experience with elevated ingredients and “food trend offerings” that match current consumer desires. Second, Walmart strives to provide customers with affordable plant-based options, from non-dairy frozen desserts to plant-based shredded cheese and more, all in signature green branding and packaging.

Enhancing Shopping Experience and Savings at Walmart: Introducing ‘Made Without’ and Bettergoods

Finally, their “Made Without” items focus on health and dietary preferences, with options free of artificial flavours, added sugar, colours, gluten and other ingredients you choose to avoid when grocery shopping.

Accessibility and affordability are key drivers of Walmart and the Bettergoods brand, which provides products from suppliers around the world that are “high-quality, on-trend ingredients and flavors” that delight customers. And, of course, ultimately help them save a little more money in their wallet.

This exciting announcement follows two major changes taking place at Walmart locations: the elimination of self-checkout lines and changes to shipping policies through third-party vendors.
